Oxford Literary Festival returns to the Sheldonian Theatre

posted on Friday 15 April

This year’s FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival (OLF) ran from 2 -10 April and once again the Sheldonian Theatre was the venue for many talks.

Over seven days we welcomed more than 6000 people to 17 events which included a Jazz and blues concert as well as six talks aimed at younger book lovers.

As the OLF goes from strength to strength a lot of preparation is required to ensure everything runs smoothly, from agreeing audio visual set-up to coordinating the delivery of hundreds of books for the author’s book signings. There was no resting on our laurels once the festival started,  we were constantly reacting to feedback from the audience on ways we could  improve for example, moving the position of a speakers microphone or opening the doors earlier in wet weather.

Each year we look forward to the arrival of the OLF’s return; it’s is an exciting week for all involved and there is a good vibe in the Theatre and in the Blackwell’s Marquee which is the hub of the festival.
