With a growing portfolio of venues we have recruited a new member to our team. We chat to Cara about her new role as Venue Sales coordinator.
How did you get into the events industry?
I’ve come from a background of customer service and office management. A lot of the skills needed in these roles are vital in an events based role, I therefore became the unofficial internal events coordinator in quite a few preceding roles. After a number of successful events I decided the events industry was the one for me and have never looked back!
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy the process of managing an event from start to finish, building long lasting relationships with my customers and seeing an event run smoothly on the day always puts a smile on my face.
What you do on a daily basis?
I organise and manage customer events from enquiry through to the event stage, building and maintaining customer relationships and sourcing new business from a range of sectors.
What is the best event you have worked on to date?
Comic Con 2017 was a great event. It was a two day extravaganza of comics, sci-fi and cosplay. There were lots of interesting products on offer and people dressed up in different costumes including storm troopers!
What you are looking forward to?
I’m excited about the Gin festival in August this year. It looks to be a great event that will attract a lot of people to the Examination Schools.
