Comic Con comes to Oxford

posted on Monday 21 March

On the Wednesday 5 March, four Storm Troopers stood outside the Examination Schools. Joined later by Chewbacca, they ushered in over 2000 people to Oxford’s very first Comic Con, Ox Con, hosted at the Examination Schools.

Using the North and South Schools, this wonderful event had 84 stalls across the two rooms and included work by artists, comic book and character themed merchandise, photo booths and video game displays.

Ox Con was different to events we have previously hosted at the Examination Schools, made even more exciting as it was the first time our client had ever organised such an event.  It was great to work with the organiser on how to fit in all the stands, work through enhanced audio visual options for the talks and short films, and ensure the smooth flow of delegates around the building.

After all of our discussions, meetings and email exchanges, it was a delight to open our doors to so many wildly and brilliantly dressed ticket holders, where a few weeks later we would be welcoming in students in their gowns for exams.

We’re excellent at conferences for professional associations and corporate clients, but it’s great to see the building being used creatively and for different types of events. So, if you’ve got something different, why not get in touch to see what we can offer?
