When

Thursday 6 July 2017

What

A child friendly summer party for 200 staff and families of NDCN

Objectives and aims

The NDCN are a department of Oxford University. They host world-leading programmes in basic, translational and clinical neuroscience research.

The department were looking to create a themed party which entertained the adults whilst also providing a safe environment for kids to enjoy.

Solutions

We worked with the department to create a fun filled Mexican themed evening. Mojitos and Mexican beers were served to guests on arrival as they enjoyed authentic Mexican sounds from a traditional Mariachi band. Later guests enjoyed a fast paced salsa dance performance and had the opportunity to learn a fantastic dance routine. A ping pong championship provided alternative fun and the kids were entertained with giant inflatables and face painting. As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed drinks from our cash bar and were served a flavour filled Mexican buffet with an abundance of choice. Guest enjoyed slow cooked pork and corn chilaquiles casserole to quesadillas with chicken, black eyed beans, manchego cheese and tequila and sweetcorn salsa. Chilli and chocolate brownies, tequila mascarpone and ice-cream pots provided a sweet end to a sweet day.
