Situated next door to each other, the Sheldonian and the Bodleian library provide a perfect venue partnership for any special day. As guests step through the grand south doors into the theatre, watch as their gaze lifts to the impressive ceiling as they take in this gorgeous venue’s ‘wow factor’.

The Sheldonian offers a large yet intimate feeling space for a drinks reception, allowing up to 200 guests to mingle and bask in the beauty of the theatre and your special day. We recommend placing poser tables on the main floor, with a drinks station in front of the seating sloping up behind. A string quartet sounds beautiful. Guests are invited to visit the cupola for panoramic views over Oxford, and take their drinks outside into the quad between the two venues to soak up the stunning Oxford architecture surrounding these two spectacular venues.
